Mike Terrizzi
Mike has over 25 years of experience as a trial attorney focusing on general civil actions with an emphasis on construction defects, community association law, personal injury, commercial litigation and real estate law. He has been a partner with Plastiras & Terrizzi since 1996.
With extensive experience in community association law, Mike has earned a national reputation as an expert in this ever-expanding area of law. He has spoken at numerous homeowner association and community association conferences and meetings. He is also a past President and Board Member for six years of the Bay Area chapter of the Community Associations Institute, a nationwide advocacy group for community associations.
Mike was trial counsel in the precedent setting case Raven’s Cove Townhomes v. Knuppe Development Co., (1981) 114 Cal. App. 3d 783, which established the right of homeowners associations to bring suit for construction defects to common areas, on behalf of individual homeowners.
Mike also has extensive trial experience, having taken dozens of cases to trial, receiving numerous favorable verdicts for his clients.
Prior to joining Plastiras & Terrizzi, Mike was the managing partner of the mass tort litigation team at Tarkington, O’Connor & O’Neill in San Francisco. In this position, he led a team of 15 attorneys in managing the start-up and continued handling of 5,000 mass tort litigation cases. During this time, he took numerous trials to verdict as lead counsel and oversaw hundreds of other cases to trial. He was also the managing partner of the firm’s San Jose office.
A former star Quarterback for the Purdue University football team, Mike first arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area after he was signed by the San Francisco 49ers. After this brief stint ended, Mike attended law school while working full time. He remains involved in youth football as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame, Northern California Chapter.
Mike is a member of the San Francisco and Marin Bar Associations, and has been appointed as a Pro Tem Judge and Arbitrator by the San Francisco and Santa Clara County Superior Courts.
A graduate of Purdue University and Golden Gate University School of Law, Mike lives with his family in San Mateo County.
